Both the American Crafts Precision Pen and Memory Writer are great for journaling and general writing and doodling. The Slick Writer is best on slick surfaces such as photos and transparencies.
Thanks to Heather B. for the following review:
The Memory Marker has two points, a fine and a medium. I was surprised to see that both points could be used for journaling. The medium point is still thin enough.
Both pens wrote quite smoothly and were comfortable to hold.
With journaling pens, there are two things that are most important to me; dry time and fade proof when erased over.
Both pens had ink that dried within seconds on matte paper. Glossy paper took a bit longer to dry.
Both pens had ink that did not fade when erased over with a white eraser.
