If you are like most of us, you have a stash of scrapbooking scraps just waiting for that perfect use! These include alphabet sticker sheets with several unused letters, sticker sheets with unused stickers, paper scraps, and probably unused papers that you just knew you would use eventually -- and much more! If you are tired of storing these (and want to make room for some new great stuff!), A Peek into Yesterday has a suggestion for what do do with these: donate them to charity.
There are many organizations that would be thrilled to have your scraps, and many children who would benefit from your donation.
Here are some ideas:
Make a Child Smile. This organization works with children with terminal illnesses. What an opportunity to touch lives! For more information, visit their website at http://makeachildsmile.org. (You can also send cards - made with your leftover scraps, of course - to children being served by this organization. You can learn more about this at their website.)
The Muscular Dystrophy Association uses craft supplies during their summer camps. You can contact them at (800) 572-1717.
Camp Sunshine offers a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses. Send your scraps to them at 35 Acadia Road, Casco, ME 04015.
Don't just throw your scraps away, or hold on to them forever. Make a difference in the lives of others -- donate!
