Using a Dove Blender
Using a Dove Blender
The Dove Blender is like a wet paintbrush and is a wonderful tool to make blending colors easier. It can be used on any water-based colors, such as watercolor pencils, brush markers, etc.
Always use a clean tip. (You can clean the tip by wiping it back and forth on a clean piece of paper until you see no color left behind.
You use the Dove Blender to pick up colors from the source. You can adjust the shade by varying the amount of color you pick up with the tip of the Dove Blender.
You can also mix colors by picking up a mix of colors with the Dove Blender.
Start with a little color, and add more as needed. You can always add, but you can't take away what has already been done.
Important: Dove Blenders are made with a very slow drying medium. Work in one direction (top to bottom, left to right, etc.) to avoid accidental smears. You can also speed up the drying process with your heat gun or hair dryer.
